Omega Psi Phi Georgia Commemorative License Plate

Chapter Coordinator:  Bro. Wayne Crosse (sawcrosse@aol.com)

at the september 2009 frat meeting, chi gamma gamma launched its part of a statewide fraternal initiative to secure a commemorative omega psi phi license plate illustrated above.  in order for the brothers in the state of georgia to secure this plate, we must have 1,000 applications for license plates along with a $30 check per application to the department of motor vehicle before they grant us this symbolic adornment to our automobiles.

we've set a goal for the chapter of a minimum 80% participation in this initiative.  that's at least 94 brothers.  as of february 15, we have 15 brothers who submitted 23 applications.  in order to be a part of this historic initiative, please click on the link below, download the application, complete it and send it, along with your check made out to chi gamma gamma, omega psi phi fraternity to bro. wayne crosse, 1678 kenbrook trace, acworth, ga, 30101.

As many tags a you would like.  However, a separate application is required for each tag you apply for along with a the appropriate $30 payment per application (i.e., if want tags for two cars then you would submit an application for each car (a total of two applications) along with a payment of $60 ($30 for each car).

Can I personalize my tag (e.g., get my line number or name on the tag)?
No. The escutcheon will be on the left with a prefix (either QP, QU or GQ) and numbers on the right.  Omega Psi Phi will be on the bottom.  The state law has mandated that the DMV distribute the plates in number series.

Do I have to be financial in order to get a tag?
NO!  However, if you are not financial you will still have to submit your application and payment through a local chapter.  So please pass this information along to other Brothers you know who may not be financial.  Send them the application, instructions and have them send their application either directly to Bro. Crosse or back to you, along with their check, and you can forward to Bro. Crosse on their behalf.  Every tag counts towards our goal!

Is there a deadline for me to submit the tag?
The deadline for all applications is May 31, 2010.

When do you anticipate we'll know if the State has reached the goal of 1,000 plates ordered?
We should know by late 2010.  However, if we reach our goal early, we will be notified at that time.  Bro. Herb Shannon will be updating us on the State's performance against this initiative.

Once we reach the goal and it's approved by the State of Georgia, when do I receive my tag?
All commemorative plates will be distributed in the month of your birthday starting in January the year after the tag is manufactured.  So if the Brothers in the State of Georgia reach our goal in early 2010 and the plates are manufactured in 2010 then starting in January 2011, the commemorative plate will be distributed.  The sooner we reach our goal of 1,000 plates the more likely we'll start getting our plates no later than January 2011 (right in time for the 100th).  So order yours now!!!

Once the plates are manufactured and it's my month for tag renewal, where do I pick them up?
The plate must be picked up at the DMV office in the city/county where you reside.  They will be there waiting for you.

What if we don't reach our goal of 1,000 tag applications?
If we are unable to get 1,000 applications from Brothers that is required by the DMV for the State of Georgia, then your $25 application fee will be refunded to you.  However, the $5 processing fee is nonrefundable (the State of Georgia keeps that).

Please contact Bro. Wayne Crosse at 404-427-9186 if you have any additional questions.
