Men of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. (Chi Gamma Gamma) Christmas Extreme Makeover On Thursday, December 20, 2007 the brothers of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. Chi Gamma Gamma Chapter teamed up with the Brothers of Douglasville Georgia to grant the Christmas wishes of two students at Stewart Middle School in Douglasville by providing them with a Christmas Extreme Makeover. One Saturday morning as the brothers assisted the teachers of Stewart Middle School during the Saturday Academy with the students to increase test scores, Mrs. Tina Justice, an 8th Grade Social Studies teacher, expressed that she had a student who wore shoes two small for his feet. After meeting with Mr. Dewayne Jackson, principal, and the School Counselor, we discovered a similar need for another student as well. Truly understanding the principles of being Omega Men, Bro. Ben Williams, Bro. David Jones, and Bro. Sebastian Moore decided to take the opportunity a step further and provide an Extreme Makeover on the two male students during their lunch period. The brothers provided each student new Nike sneakers and designer jeans and shirt. Bro. Ben Williams also gave a fifty dollar gift card to Wal-Mart as well. To top off the event Charles Bauknight, a local Master Barber in Douglasville, provided haircuts for both students. It was an awesome and rewarding experience to witness the expression on the young men’s faces. The staff at Stewart Middle School was very grateful for the men of Omega Psi Phi. Special thanks to Brother T.J. Hurley and the Brothers of Douglasville Georgia who contributed in purchasing the wardrobe for the makeover. We also would like to thank Citizens Bank and Trust of West Georgia for providing financial support as well and committing to sponsor our Spring Makeover on two new students which will take place in March of 2008. As brothers of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. we are expected to make a difference and uplift our youth and community. The makeover was just one way to show there are men in the community who care.
