CHI GAMMA GAMMA SPONSORS "Drive for Knowledge" GOLF TOURNAMENT The brothers of Chi Gamma Gamma Chapter in Marietta, Georgia sponsored their annual “Drive for Knowledge” Charity Golf Tournament at Fort McPherson on September 7, 2007 in Atlanta, Georgia. The chapter has always been known for sponsoring a first class tournament and this year was no exception with 124 golfers showing up and showing out to support the tournament in which all of the profits from the tournament go to support the chapter’s scholarship fund. Because of the involvement from the chapter brothers, as well as support from other chapters in the Atlanta metro area and even chapters from as far away as Columbus, Georgia, the chapter was able to clear over $8,100 for this year’s event. The chapter’s golf tournament has always been the main fund-raiser for scholarships and the chapter has given out more than $80,000 in scholarships over the past seventeen years as a result of their tournament. Corporate sponsorship for this year’s event came from such firms as IBM, UPS, Coors Beer and Georgia Power. The tournament included a putting contest and after a great day on the course, all of the guests were treated to an awards ceremony that included a buffet BBQ dinner with all the trimmings.
